MEETINGS and DUES:  The club meets on the first and third Wednesday of
the month from September through June at Vitales Restaurant in
Teaneck.  Club members pay for dinners through dues which are paid
twice annually.  In the club's 70 years of serving the community it has
raised hundreds of thousands of dollars that have been donated to blind
related charities.  Please consider joining the club so we can continue to
maintain that tradition.  No, we don't wear Lions'  fur or racoon hats or
anything such.  The name "Lions" comes from a 1930s notion that club
members were "lions of the community", or successful businessmen.
There is no such prerequisite to joining the Leonia Lions Club.    Feel free
to contact us and attend one of our meetings......

Volunteerism is part of the American spirit of generosity, and the Lions
Club has been part of that fabric for nearly a century.  In hospitals and
senior centers, in regions battered by natural disaster, in schools and
in eyeglass recycling centers, Lions are at work, helping, leading,
planning and supporting. Because we're local, we can serve the
unique needs of the communities we live in. And because we're
global, we can address challenges that go beyond borders.  In 1925,
Helen Keller addressed the Lions International convention and
challenged the club to become "knights of the blind in the crusade
against darkness."  From that time on, the Lions have been champions
of that cause.  Please help us keep that tradition strong by donating to
our causes, or by joining the club.
